My scientific interests lie in the field of animals' behaviour, ecology, physiology and evolution. I am particularly interested in understanding how animals respond and adapt to stressful biotic and abiotic perturbations of their environment and how these responses depend on the life-history stage at which individuals are exposed to stress. I do this by using an interdisciplinary approach from molecular biology to behavioural ecology. I develop this approach mostly in birds but also in mammals.

I am currently a postdoctoral associate at Cornell University working with Maren Vitousek on stress resistance in the tree swallow.
